For me it would be my friend's mom's SAAB 9-4x (573 or so made, and my friend is a Jalop who posts on oppo sometimes. His family has 3 SAABs because why not) , an Audi R8 GT Spider (no idea exactly how many are in the US. I've heard anywhere from 50-90), and maybe a Ferrari Testarossa and a Porsche 911 GT2 (owned by the same guy, who's son has a 244,000 mile Acura NSX) Edit: I just remembered that my neighbor has a DeLorean DMC-12

There was a VR6 Corrado near my house until last year, The owner had 3 other cars from VW AG, one being an old Audi A4, and a MKIV Jetta.
I also pass by a red AW11 MR2 on my daily commute to college.

The rarest (I'm cringing as I write this) is a Daewoo Leganza. I think that is the model. Not many of those in central Florida. That or a plymouth prowler owned by my next door neighbor.

Its hard to say... Theres a bunch of old metal in varying condition around where I live. Theres an Alfa Milano thats around sometimes, and a guy a few blocks away had a Citroen DS but it seems to have dissappeared (hopefully in a shop somewhere getting restored). Oh and theres an Opel Manta thats around sometimes as well. Also a Peugeot 505 Turbo. So I guess "rare" may not be the right word but there are a bunch of interesting old cars close to me. For example, theres one block about 2 miles away that consistently has a Volvo P1800 ES, 2 Studebaker Lark sedans and one Lark wagon, and 1 or 2 AMC Gremlins. Theres also an Alfa Romeo (and all things Italian) shop within the 5 mile radius. At any given time it is full of rare alfas, ferraris, and Lambos. I was there the other day to pick up my car ('77 Alfa Spyder Veloce) and there was a Muira in pieces waiting to get put back together, 2 512 TR's with engines out, a '50's Giulia Spyder, Lotus Elan mk 1, and other such rarities. And this is all without mentioning the countless American relics from the '50's-'70's.

I've seen an orange McLaren MP4-12c Spyder, a couple different R8's, a Diablo, a couple Tesla Model S's, a Gallardo Superleggera, a Flying Spur. There is a surprising amount of sweet wheels around Dayton, Ohio.
Oh, and of course there is my and my buddy's SVT Foci. :)

Guy about 6 house's down has 2 of these, neither in the best condition
And one of these, also not in the best condition.
I think he may like Opel just a bit
Another guy a few years back at a friends down the block was like I got this car in the garage any one want it, it's a 62 come and get it it's yours. I am kicking my self in the ass for not having a place to take it... It was a 62 Saab man I was stupid.
We lack a lot of cool cars in the state like Lamborghini's and R8's think it is the winters.

Ruf RGT Cabriolet (one of two Cabrios in the US, and I think three or four in the world):
Others include a THE Daytona 24h-winning Porsche 914-6, Euro E24 M6, a GT-R Black Edition (which a kid drives to high school), and a little while ago, one of the first ten new Minis ever built, ever. A weird bit of trivia, I know, but a collector approached the woman who owned it (who was unaware of its heritage) and offered her a brand new Mini of her choice in exchange for her car. She accepted.

Some family friends of ours have a Pulse Car. Their grandfather bought out part of the company and tried to keep production open but it never really worked. They inherited it a few years ago. It's in their garage on a custom trailer with the engine on a hoist and all the interior striped out.

Its really weird... I live in Tacoma, WA and you wouldn't think that there'd be a lot of interesting cars here. I mean the summer's are fantastic and perfect for classic cars/rare cars but the rest of the year is dismal, dark, and wet. Really wet. Constantly wet. And many of these cars can be seen year round being used as daily drivers. Plus its not uber affluent like Malibu or Greenwich or Monterrey or Miami aka places one would think theres be a lot of nice cars.

There's a Monster Auto (formerly Auto Showcase) dealership in my town that has higher-end Benzes, Bentleys, and other brands, though Lamborghinis and such seem to be over at their Baltimore dealership. There's also a tuning garage close to the nearby railway station in my town where I've seen a modified NSX and a modified Mk. IV Supra. I might've also seen a stock Mk. IV Supra and maybe a classic Charger there.
In terms of more pedestrian rare cars, there's a 5th-gen Hurst Camaro (Hurst-Equipped badge, wheels, and any other enhancements) and Isuzu VehiCROSS in my neighborhood. On my street, there's a house with a Trans Am (probably a WS6) and an AW11 MR2, though they used to have a second Trans Am in a different color. There was also a Lotus Evora in Solar Yellow that parked at a house up the street two years ago.
There's a Porsche tuner I know of, though it's most likely further than 5 miles away.

Vermont. Nowhere near anything major car-related, but it's full of people who moved here from NYC and CT. And I just listed the strangely rare stuff, too. There are plenty of incredible British cars, like E-Types (a classmate of mine's father has a pristine Series I roadster and an almost as nice Series II coupe) and Healeys, plus some awesome racing Porsches. There was an R8 V10 in my town, and there will be an E55 AMG Wagon (owned by the Ruf guy) here soon, and an RS7 to replace the R8 V10 (the R8 was sucking dust into the intakes from dirt roads, so it had to go). There was a man in my town a few years ago who had an actual Ferrari 250TR, but he passed away and it was only after his death that the contents of his collection were revealed. He had some beautiful Jags, too. No one knows what happened to the 250, but I'm assuming it'll cause quite a stir when it does turn up.

Well then you'll like my friend's family. He has an '07 9-3 Aero Sportcombi, his dad has a 2012 9-5, and then his mom has that 9-4x. His car came first, then his dad decided he wanted to replace his Tundra with something more fuel efficient, so my friend convinced him to get the 9-5, and then he convinced his mom to get the 9-4x as a replacement to her 2005 SRX, which had been in 4 accidents.

Oh and what's funny is that the 9-5 is actually more comfortable on road trips than the 9-4x. Knoxville to Destin, Fl in the 9-5 was absolutely fine, but Knoxville to Chattanooga in the 9-4x was somehow less comfortable....Keep in mind, I was a rear seat passenger (most of the time) in both cases.

I saw one IRL once. It was in a grocery store parking lot, and it was being transported somewhere. The trucker took it off the truck to re-arrange it for some reason, and we (my friend, his dad, and me) helped him guide it back on. It is gorgeous in real life, and the paint is really sparkly (hah). Also, its low speed sound thing is like a spaceship, its awesome.

I live in a small country town in Ireland and locally there are a few rare cars.
I have an Imported 06 Mustang GT
A guy down the road has an original AC Cobra and a 05 Ford F250
There are a few weird JDM imports .. but they aren't that rare anymore.
There is a guy with an SLS, an NSX and oddly enough a UK registered Dodge Challenger. ( although that could belong to a friend as I have only seen it twice)
Lastly there is a woman with a Irish Registered Ford Street Ka
to the best of my knowledge they were never sold here officially.

Now the rarest one in my neighborhood is a GT2 (though there is a veyron I see from time to time whenever I go home these days)
